Am/Can Ch. Weinland’s Mr. Peepers ("Skooter")

I bought my first show dog in 1982.  Her name was Ch. Wertmueller’s Jenna CD.  She was a German Shorthaired Pointer and the beginning of my continuing interest in the world of purebred dogs.  During my years with Jenna I acquired many other GSP’s most of which came from Linda Bynum’s wonderful Weinland line.  I was very proud to co-own and finish dogs carrying her kennel name and some others that I bred under the Vintage prefix.  My most notable dog was Am/Can Ch. Weinland’s Mr. Peepers the sire of a National Specialty winner by the name of Ch. Maekenet Flying Persuasion. Cruiser in turn sired another National Specialty winner by the name of Ch. Minado’s Parade Drum Major. Skooter, along with his son and grandson appears in many of the German Shorthaired Pointer pedigrees of today and definitely made a mark on the breed.

Ch. Onyxx Anais Anais ("Hillary")

My introduction to Whippets came through my dear friend Mandy Tyler of Kerryarc Irish Wolfhounds.  She kindly gave me a puppy from her only Whippet litter and I am forever grateful.  Although Whitney was not a showdog, she led me to friends Lynn and Bill Weller of Autumn GSP’s and as of 1990, Onyxx Whippets.  Lynn and Bill allowed me to have Hillary, Ch. Onyxx Anais Anais (CH. Chelsea Bulgari x Ch. Avalon Touch of Lace) from their first Whippet litter and she became my foundation bitch.  I was also the proud owner of BIS SBIS Ch. Onyxx Sand n Sable, my once in a lifetime dog. Sable was the dog of my dreams, but unfortunately she was only with me for slightly less than 5 years.  I treasure every moment that I was with her and thank the Wellers for their kindness.
